Barcelona has won a new historic area with high and landscape value. On March 27th, from 10.30 a.m., the Turó de la Rovira will celebrate the rehabilitation and recovery of their anti-aircraft battery built during the Civil War.
The Turó de la Rovira is a living memory area of the history of Barcelona, where coexist vestiges of an Iberian settlement, the former military republican facilities of the Civil War and remains of the huts of the informal city of the middle of the 20th Century.
The dignity of Turo de la Rovira has been worth the space of historical memory and at the same time, privileged viewpoint of the city. Over ten months, has improved the accessibility and security with appropriate paths. At the same time, has rehabilitated the anti-aircraft battery and traces of huts that lasted for creating a museum complex, linked to the History Museum of Barcelona.
Next March 27th, to celebrate it, has been organized an open day with guided visits with the Museum of History of Barcelona (MUHBA), several music performances and a vermouth for everybody! You are invited to attend it!
In addition, between April and May, the centre MUHBA Turó de la Rovira organizes several commented visits by this patrimonial set. Those of April 3rd and 10th will be guided by the archaeologist Jordi Ramos; those of May 8th and 22nd will focus on Barcelona in the war and the post-war period, and those of April 16th and 30th and May 21st, they will turn on the defence of the modern city.
